Choose a Legit Essay Writing Service
If you Google “online writing services,” you will see a number of the “results.” That number is 296,000,000. Yes, that’s right – 296 million. Granted, not all of them are the type of writing services that students and career professionals use. But there are at least hundreds of thousands of them.
And, just like in any industry, there are “good guys,” “okay guys,” and “bad guys.” You, of course, want to use one of the “good guys,” – a company that is professional, ethical, and that has qualified writers who can meet your expectations.
You could spend months trying to figure all of this out. Fortunately, there are those who have done some of this work for you and have come up with clues that will give you some red flag on companies you will want to avoid – they are quite possibly essay writing service scams.
Here are those Clues:
-
What is the writing quality on the website itself?
The website content does not necessarily have to formal and scholarly. But, it should be in perfect English. When you come across wrong word usage, strange phrases and expressions, bad sentence structure, and poor use of pronouns, plurals, etc., you can be certain that the company is owned n operated by foreigners. And, if they claim to have all native English-speaking writers with degrees from English-speaking universities, why have they not enlisted one of those wonderful writers to compose their website content? Probably best to move on.
-
Who do you talk with when you contact the customer support department? Most writing services offer communication by telephone and live chat. There are important clues here too.
When you call, who answers? Is the individual able to converse with you in good English and without a foreign accent? And, if you engage someone in live chat, is their writing in natural English? If you are dealing with foreigners, take a pause. It is possible that the company, wherever it may be located, is using an answering service and a “boiler room” chat company.
Certainly, there are many people with foreign accents who reside in English-speaking countries and who work for English-speaking companies. But if they are really employees, they will be well-trained and ale to answer your detailed questions. If they must put you on hold and take a long time to respond to a question via chat, they are probably not actual employees. Legit paper writing services will have in-house employees that are valued members of their staff.
-
Does the Company provide an address or speak to its corporate headquarters?
Foreign corporations have an easy time registering in Delaware, Virginia, Wyoming, and Delaware. If a company proudly states that it is registered in one of these states, it should be a red flag. Many, many foreign companies have set up “virtual” offices in these states, and claim to be American companies.
If the company states that it is based in the UK, does it have a street address? It will be difficult to check on whether it has a bank account in the UK, but the address can be checked. Do it before you make a choice to use them.
-
What do the published testimonials read like?
If the company is serving English-speaking students and those students are happy with the products they have received, then there should be some testimonials from them on the website. How do those testimonials read? Are they in normal English? If not, then who has really written them?
-
Does a company operate a number of websites?
This is often an activity of a scam service. They set up several websites and try to make them “look” different, but often, if the publish some samples, they may be the same ones, and you can spot the same phrases. Their plan is this: have a bunch of sites. If one gets too much “bad press” on the web, they just shut it down and maybe then create a new website with a new name. Reputable writing services are proud of who they are and what they deliver to their customers. Why would they need more than one site?
These are only five “clues,” but they are pretty important ones. Check any website you are considering these 5 factors; go onto the web and see if you can find what actual customers have to say; check some writing service review sites that will give more objective information. Otherwise, you will be spinning your wheels trying to find a “good guy” among all of the mediocre and bad ones.
